Undergraduate Student Volunteers
Undergraduate Volunteers:
We are always encouraged to hear from students who are motivated by a commitment to access to justice and serving their communities. At this time, we are at capacity for undergraduate student volunteers. This is due to the nature of our programs and the level of training and supervision required to effectively support our clients.
Undergraduate Interns:
Undergraduate internships with VLPCNY generally require a long-term commitment, as well as availability in minimum three-hour blocks during regular business hours or designated clinic timeframes. Volunteers are also expected to complete all required onboarding materials, including the volunteer manual. If this is something you are able to commit to, please review the manual HERE. We encourage applicants who are applying through another academic or credit-bearing program in conjunction with this program. We only accept undergraduate interns who can commit to 12 or more hours per week. Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and transcript (send to volunteers@vlpcny.org).
Your interest in access to justice is meaningful, and we encourage you to continue pursuing opportunities—such as advocacy organizations or community-based programs—that are well-suited for undergraduate students and provide valuable experience in this area. We hope you’ll consider reconnecting with us as your academic and professional path progresses.
